Once a month, the last Wednesday of every month except December, WRAC (West Rand Astronomy Club) members gather at the Church Hall for a club meet. The meeting starts at 19:00 and it is all very relaxed and informal. We welcome all guests interested in astronomy to spend an evening with us and take up membership if interested.
WRAC has a motto, “We are a ‘doing’ club. We like to do outreach programs using our own telescopes. Going to schools, scout groups and all those interested in astronomy. At meetings we discuss our outreach programs, plan weekends away, evenings for viewing and normal club matters.
We are all interested in whats in the sky and what is happening in the astronomy world. At our meetings we usually try to incorporate a guest speaker on any subject in astronomy.
We learn a lot and smile a lot!
